How it works:
1. Activate your new SIM card in your qualified phone.
2. SMS “LevelUp” to 31118 to opt in – you only do this once.
3. Get your first additional data allocation for free.
4. From month 2 until month 6, you will receive your additional data when you recharge for R29 monthly.
Duration:
The Vodacom Buy and Get smartphone retail campaign (the “Promotion”) will run from 1 November 2023 – 31 March 2024 (both days inclusive) (the “Promotion Period”).
Eligibility:
1. Participants must reside in South Africa and be in possession of a valid South African identity document or permanent residence permit or temporary residence permit valid for a period exceeding 3 (three) months for the Republic of South Africa and valid at the End Date.
2. Customers must – a. purchase and activate a new device and MSISDN; and
b. monthly recharge of R29 pm.
Valid Entry:
1. Qualifying Vodacom Customers must recharge with a once off value of R29 or more every 30 days, for a period of 6 months to redeem the free allocation each month (30 days).
2. The recharge criteria will reset every 30 days from date of activation of the promotion/campaign.
3. Each month (30-day period) will be evaluated independently and missing the recharge criteria in one month will not impact the recharge criteria of any other month (i.e., consecutive months are not mandatory).
4. A Qualifying Device can only enter the promotion/campaign once.
5. When a qualifying customer with a qualifying device successfully achieves the recharge criteria, they will be allocated the following bundle that month:
a. For 3G devices: 1GB bundle once-off valid for 7 days;
b. For 4G devices: 4GB bundle once-off valid for 7 days.
6. An additional allocation of YouTube data will be allocated upon achieving the recharge criteria and will be allocated as follows for that month:
a. For 3G devices: 500MB YouTube bundle once-off valid for 7 days;
b. For 4G devices: 1GB YouTube bundle once-off valid for 7 days.
7. The above allocations will be made within 72hours of the recharge criteria being achieved.

Instore-RICA
– Present the Consultant with your original Identification Document (SA Smart ID card / SA Green ID book or Passport for foreign nationals), your proof of address and the new Sim card to be RICA’d.
Self-RICA
– Download the My Vodacom App.
– Go to My Vodacom App.
– Select Chat to Vodacom.
– Select Prepaid RICA on the menu on the Chatbot or just type RICA.
– Accept Terms and Conditions.
– Follow the Instructions.

Getting Connected
– Have your SIM card RICA registered
– Simply insert your SIM card into your cell phone
– It will activate automatically. If not, simply dial 136 from your cell phone
– Your cell phone number will be sent to you via SMS

Porting: Move to Vodacom and keep your number
1. Use this un-activated Vodacom SIM or any other un-activated Vodacom SIM
You need a Vodacom Prepaid SIM that has been RICA-registered to start the process.
Do not insert the SIM into a phone or activate it until the porting process is completed.
2. SMS your new SIM number to Vodacom
Using your existing cell number, SMS ‘portme’ followed by your new SIM number to 082 767 8287.
Example: portme 890000000001234567. Normal SMS rates apply.
3. Confirm and activate
Remember, do not insert the Vodacom SIM into a phone at this point
Look out for your porting SMS notification
Wait until your current SIM stops working
Now you can insert your new Vodacom SIM card into the phone to join the Vodacom Network
